As We Grow

What a way to figure it all out!
What a way to know what life’s about!
At first you’re young and so naive
And you think age will fix it all
You eagerly wish to get mature
And dream of getting strong and tall
You see those grown-ups so carefree,
Waiting for months and years to roll,
And you become avid to be like them
To walk like them, not just crawl
The glamor of it ascends in your mind
And starts taking over your innocent soul
You get eager to change what you are
And begin to play an ‘’adult’s’’ role,
And you believe they’re happier,
Limitless
Careless
Flawless
Fearless
Able to bring down an iron wall
And then it happens!
And you’re all grown!
And all that eagerness will turn into pain
And with a sigh, you’ll hear yourself say
“I wish I’m a kid all over again!”
